When I get asked where I am from, I answer "from Germany". And what do you do? For many years I was used to say, "travelling", now it is, "I am talking to people nicely".
In 2007 I migrated to Australia with my second career as an aerial surveyor, creating maps from medium size aircraft by using highly accurate large format cameras. This work took me already around all Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. I felt very fortunate being offered to live and work in Australia and to discover our beautiful country with its lovely people and its countless wonders. The company expanded and set foot abroad with sending me out to Central and South Africa, India, south east Asia, Indian and Pacific Ocean islands and even further to places that have no name.
While working I preferred staying at guest house type accommodation, where the housepet became very friendly on many occasions. The dog would sleep in front of my door, in the morning he would go with me for a run, then walk me to the car or the bus to take me to the airport. It seems to be a natural thing, and I enjoyed their company tremendously while being away so much.
In 2017 the idea of owning and operating a pet crematorium grew and so the final decision was made to set sails to new shores with a long awaited home-based life and a very rewarding community servicing profession. This is when Mary Valley Pet Cremations was born. I chose this area for its beauty and for the people and their pets.
Perhaps you will see my distinctive little white van on the streets around the Gympie or the Fraser or Sunshine Coasts. If I see you wave, I promise I will give a dignified wave back.
